Massage During Pregnancy

Is it safe for me to have a massage while I am pregnant? Yes! When you get a massage during pregnancy, you are not only doing something good for yourself, you are doing something good for your baby. Massage helps to improve the mother's blood flow, and breathing. It helps to calm both mother and baby and increase a sense of well being that is so vital for the growth of your baby.

Donna is a competent and knowledgeable therapist who was trained by Elaine Stillerman in Mother Massage ©. You and your baby will be kept comfortable, with all the proper precautions being followed. Prior to your 22nd week, you will receive your massage in the usually manner, lying face up and face down, so long as this is comfortable for you. After your 22nd week, you will receive your massage lying on your side. This is for your baby's comfort as well as your comfort and well being.

Lying on your side is also an excellent way to get into those areas that can be so troublesome at this stage of your pregnancy. Your upper back, lower back, and hips can be easily worked on to relieve stress and strain. Massage can also help to lessen any welling in your feet and legs that may occur.

Massage during pregnancy is safe and beneficial to both you and your baby.
